Batu Katak (Rafflesia Arnoldii Tours)

RAFFLESIA / AMORPHOPHALLUS DAY TOURS, This special tours to the another village a Batu katak, 15km away from Bukit Lawang you can see original villages with the local etnic, chance to see the wild orangutans, black gibbons and the highest flower of the world Amorphophallus Titanum and the biggest flower of the world, Rafflesia Arnoldii. 

 

For this trip will see the situation condition about blooming flower news!! So,We can offer this tour only when its blooming time - Batu Katak village. If there is one of the biggest flower or the higest one blooming, the tour will be start. After breakfast at your accommodation, at 09.00am our guide will pick up you and start  drive by motor bike (if you just 1 or 2 person) and by LOCAL bus ( if you more than 3 person) to Batu Katak village  as starting point where your program to see a few different Raflesia and Amorphophallus Titanum (corpse flower-found only in sumatra. On the way you’ll experience the wonderful countryside, farmers with their various plants and commodity they grow for their income.

Arriving at Batu katak village, we walk through rubber plantations to the Kerapu River and follow upstream of this river to the Gunung Leuser National Park. The area there is mostly wet and mossy, so you have to walk really careful up and down the hills. While trekking in the rainforest we are searching for the biggest and thehighest flowers in the world, the Rafflesia Arnoldii and the Amorphophallus Titanum. During this trek we can also commonly see wild orangutans and many other monkeys like long tail macaques, pig tail macaques, gibbons or thomas leaf monkeys. We will have lunch at a riverbank close to a clear waterfall, during a rest you can swim and relax there.

Back to Bukit Lawang in the afternoon.
